Open PhD Positions

We welcome applications from highly motivated prospective PhD students who are interested in our work and have a strong knowledge of the field. The ideal candidate will have outstanding academic performance, relevant research experience, and excellent communication and analytical skills. We evaluate prospective applicants throughout the year and invite those shortlisted to submit formal applications to our PhD program, which typically opens in September for admission in the following Autumn term.

Please note that admission to Cambridge and securing PhD studentships is highly competitive. We encourage you to check the requirements for entering our PhD programme and explore the available funding opportunities. Familiarise yourself with the application process and what to expect after submitting your formal application. Depending on your country of origin or study, other funding opportunities may also be available. Please note that we do not accept self-funded PhD students, as we believe in providing equal access to opportunities in academia for all students.

For exceptional candidates, there is a possibility of a lab-funded PhD by joining as a research assistant.

To apply for a PhD in our lab, please send your CV, along with a brief description of your research background, research interests and future goals, as well as your reasons for wanting to join our lab. Additionally, provide the contact details of two referees to Sepiedeh (sk2244@cam.ac.uk). Please indicate your overall grade for each higher education degree in your CV and ideally provide your degree transcripts.

We encourage you to get in touch well in advance, ideally a few months before the course application deadline and a year before your intended start date.
